When Does Hurricane Season Start?

The first step in preparing for a hurricane is to know when one is likely to hit. June 1 marks the beginning of the Atlantic hurricane season for 2013, and it will last until November 30. The peak storm activity for the Northern Atlantic basin runs from late August through September.
